Neighbors Building Neighborhoods is the City of Rochester's citizen-based planning system. Each Sector (there are 10) has a committee composed of representatives from neighborhood groups. This committee works with the Sector residents to determine priorities and then creates an Action Plan to address them. The E. Main-Atlantic neighborhood is in
Sector 8. Here's a map from the City that shows the Sectors.

In October, NBN Sector 8 had a public planning meeting at East High. Over 50 people attended and gave their perspective on issues like crime, education, beautification, and transportation. Out of this several committees were formed to take action on problems identified in these areas. Here is a list of the active committees:
Public Safety.
Education.
Transportation.
Alternatives for Post-incarcerated Youth
Go Green.
Housing/Land Use.
Community Health Care.
Youth Engagement.
Local Business.
Community Image. (Jared Strohl and I are co-chairing this committee)
And these are the committees that are still seeking leadership:
Community Building.
Jobs.
If you would like to get involved in any of these committees, or NBN in general, please let me know or send a message via the NBN sector 8 website: http://sites.google.com/site/nbnsector8/Home
Thanks!
Katrina
