Community/University Partnership Project

Over the past few years, Nazareth College has developed the Community/University Partnership Project (CUPP). "The CUPP Mission is to provide transformational capacity-building and other educational services for those individuals, workers, organizations, and communities that are seeking healthy, sustainable and just communities.

Our primary focus is on developing the sustainability of nonprofit organizations and project that seek to reduce or eliminate the root causes of health, social, environmental, and economic inequalities, particularly those causes related to the underlying issue of poverty."

CUPP organizes a series of training sessions that are open to the public and cover a wide variety of topics. "Individuals from community groups, local nonprofits, faith-based organizations, and local colleges and universities are invited to participate in the Academy, which is a series of training sessions designed to build capacity for established and grassroots nonprofit organizations in the Greater Rochester Area."

The Healthy Blocks department at NeighborWorks Rochester is pleased to announce that any Pocket resident who wants to participate in any of the training sessions offered by CUPP will be able to do so at no cost to them. The complete course listing can be found here: 2011 CUPP Academy Series.pdf. Check it out! You might find something you would like to attend. Each individual training session will also be posted to the calendar.
